Scholastic is an annual city-level inter-school competitions festival hosted by SIO Chennai since 2013 as a platform to help the students identify and develop their talents and skills and at the same time SIO guides them to make positive and constructive use of their abilities for the betterment of humanity.

            This year Scholastic ’14 was held on 1 September at Egmore Museum Theater. 13 schools responded to the invitation, with around 375 participants taking part in a total of 8 competitions such as essay writing, speech contest, quiz, memory contest, drawing and paper collage for junior and senior categories. The day-long event culminated in a joint felicitation ceremony for winners with Afzal Hussain Award function, for felicitating toppers in 10^th and 12^th examination. A number of distinguished personalities were invited as guests of honor and the chief guest was Br. Ashfaq Ahmed Shareef, President of SIO India. The overall trophy was awarded by Ashfaq Shareef Sb. to Crescent Girls Mat. Hr. Sec. School for best overall performance in Scholastic ‘14.
