Pre Matric scholarship date extension yet another effort of SIO MSZ

Scholarship cell of SIO Maharashtra south zone yesterday on 10 sep,12  appraised  Dr. Sunil Magar (assistant director of sec. and higher sec. education Maharashtra) and Dr. Kadu (Director of higher education Maharashtra) and raised the issue of Pre-matric & post scholarship in Maharashtra. The delegation demands the government official to extend the date for applying of pre-matric scholarship. After discussion government accepted the demands of SIO and date for pre matric scholarship was extended from 10th sep to 17th of September 2012 

A delegation of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Maharashtra South met Mr. Munaf Hakim Chairmen, State Minorities commission at Parbhani, Jalna and Aurangabad. The meeting was focused on minorities ‘issues’ related to poor implementation of   scholarship schemes in Maharashtra state. 

 

In a conversion of Br.Sharique Ansar (National Secretary SIO of India)  with Mr.Lucas L Kamsuan (Director, Pre matric, Post Matric, Free coaching Scheme, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India) , issues pertaining to general awareness amongst the masses and the distribution of sanctioned amount have been pointed as the key problems. Speaking about the loopholes and bottle necks in the distribution process, Mr.Lucas L Kamsuan acknowledged that more transparency was the call of the moment for the benefit of the minority students. The SIO Secretary also raised the issue of poor implementation of scholarship scheme, website problems, and other difficulties. 

 

The Director assured the representatives that he would take the concerns seriously and try to resolve them at the earliest. He said that the Department is committed to its task and would seek cooperation from all sections of the community to help in implementing the schemes.

While Mr.Nadeem Rasoul (Coordinator, Scholarship Cell, SIO Maharashtra South) said “Alongwith online, offline forms in printed Performa should also be accepted for convenience.  Due wide publicity in local Urdu/Marathi News papers is essential regarding extension of last date.  Maximum annual income limit should be enhanced from 2 lakh to 4.5 lakh as it is implemented for Maulana Azad National Fellowships for minorities.  All eligible minority students should be awarded by scholarships with 100% Fee reimbursement as practiced for backward communities.The govt. should release previous years amount as soon as possible.
