Muslim Scholars have the power to influence the society: SIO National President

New Delhi: Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) conducted an all India Deeni Madaris Cadre’s camp at New Delhi on 20-21 April 2012. The objective was to find ways and means to penetrate into the Madaris spread in the length and breadth of the nation; and how to make students of Madaris grasp the comprehensive concept of Deen.
Mohd Azharuddin, National President, SIO in his concluding speech emphasized on overall personality development. He opined that the Muslim scholars have the power to influence the society.
The program was started with tazkeer of Abul Ala Subhani and inaugural words of Nazeerul Hasan, Deeni Madaris Organiser, SIO. It was followed by Mohd Azharuddin, SIO National President’s speech on “Tafaqquh Fid Deen”. On Fiqh of minorities Rizwan Rafiqi spoke at length. A symposium was organized on Tajdeed e Deen: its meaning and requirements was held presided by Maulana Abdus Salam Islahi Madni. “Indian society and its understanding” was the topic on which Iqbal Mulla, Secretary JIH spoke in the light of his Dawah experiences.
On higher objectives of sharia, Dr. Nijatullah Siddiqui spoke through video conferencing. While an important topic of the middle path of Islam was dealt by Maulana Arshad Jamal Nadwi. Mohd. Faruq reviewed the book ‘Islamisation of knowledge’.
The second day’s program was started with Br. Siraj Ahmed Falahi’s Tazkeer. Dr. Mohd. Rafat delivered an important talk on establishment of Deen in a plural society. Abul subhani analysed the pros and cons of the proposed Madarsa Board. Suhail KK, ex National President, SIO spoke on challenges of the modernity. A panel discussion was held on the ways to penetrate in Madaris. PM Salih, Secretary General, SIO spoke on “Lessons from Arab Spring”.
In the camp 40 cadres studying in different Madaris from across the nation participated.
