Press Release SIO India

New Delhi( 29/07/2013): Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) National president Ashfaq ahmed today said that military’s coup against the legitimate democratic president Muhammad Morsi is factually the murder of democracy, and to lead this coup to a conclusion the Egyptian army is now bleeding the very humanity.

Peaceful protests are constantly being attacked; hundreds of these peaceful protesters which include women and children, have been murdered in cold blood, while attacks by army have left thousands of protesters brutally injured. He said astonishing it is that name-sake ‘democratic’ government of the United States has not only backed this military coup but has actually denied accepting it as coup. Even more appalling has been that ruling elites of some Muslim countries have come to the support of the military government.

The SIO president said what is happening in Egypt was the outcome of organized conspiracy against a popularly elected democratic government, in which other Arab countries participated openly and shoulder to shoulder with the western world. Resources of the media were used in full for this; varieties of accusations were made to malign the elected government of Mr. Morsi and all weight was put to prove him as a failed president. All these conspiracies against president Morsi proved failures when millions from the masses descended into grounds and streets to demand Mr. Morsi’s return, and even some of the western channels had to accept that those were the biggest demonstrations of protest in the human history. He said the media was representing a particular thinking on the issue of Egypt. This has been the reason that any news of such biggest protests was failing to find its place in credible and noticeable part in our media.

The president demanded all democratic and justice loving people and governments around the world, particularly the Government of India, that they register strong protest on the military coup against Egypt’s democratically elected government and seek a restoration of her democratic government and values to end all inhuman, barbaric treatment of protesters by the Egyptian military.
