New Delhi (25.09.2011): The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) has urged the International Community to stand in favour and support the Palestine’s demand for full member state of the United Nations (UN) with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Welcoming the support for Palestine by the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh at the UN General Assembly, SIO has said that the world needs to acknowledge that Palestine exists for decades and has a democratic right to be a state and be recognized by the UN as a full member state of the General Assembly. When the world is determined to establish democracy across the globe with recent examples of revolutionary movements in the middle-east, how Palestine can be treated differently, asked SIO’s National Secretary, Shaikh Shoaib.

It is the responsibility of the super powers to bring justice to the millions suffering since decades in Palestine due to the border disputes and the forced occupation of Gaza by Israel since 1967, he added.
