Supreme Court gave the judgment in favour of SIO to include Urdu in NEET from 2018-19 session

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today directed the Centre to include Urdu as a language for the 2018-19 session of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the common test for admission into medical courses. It, however, means the NEET this year will not be conducted in Urdu. A bench comprising justices Dipak Misra, A M Khanwilkar and M M Shantanagoudar told the petitioner, who has sought a direction for making Urdu as a medium for NEET 2017 scheduled on May 7, that it would not be possible for the government to include Urdu this year. “As the language is …

SIO National president Nahas Mala condemned the attack on African students in Greater Noida. A handful of hate crimes reported in and around the Greater Noida, after the suspicious death of a local resident, is a matter of shock. He also told that the Government should look into the matter seriously and ensure the security of South African students, instead of beating around the bush. Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for the Academic Year 2017-18 in 10 languages but has kept the Urdu out of this important test. On 15th October, 2016, a JNU student and a resident of Badaun named Najeeb went missing from his hostel after he was assaulted by members of the ABVP, the student wing of RSS. Najeeb’s phone and laptop was found on his bed, and all of his shoes were there in the room. Four months since Najeeb’s involuntary disappearance, the ABVP members have not been touched by the Delhi Police.
