Cultural Activities should be promoted while being within moral and ethical limits : Fest at Delhi Zone

“Islam is a complete way of life and has given a lot of importance to cultural and extra-curricular activities” said PM Saleh, (General Secretary Students Islamic Oraganisation of India). He was speaking on the occasion of a mega cultural event organized by SIO Delhi state, at Scholar School, Jamia Nagar. He stressed on the use of cultural activities to propagate the message of Islam. He added that SIO is organizing the cultural programmes throughout the nation and that the concluding programme will be held in Kolkalta in which renowned vocalist Sami Yusuf will be the guest of honour.

Professor Deewakar (Department of Mass Comm., JMI) said that such events should be used to develop the hidden talents among the students and youths of the nation. He congratulated SIO for organizing the event and praised SIO for its various activities specially those done to promote the educational standards and cultural talents of poor and needy people.

Anis ur Rahman, Zonal President SIO Delhi zone, said that cultural activities have worked as a backbone in all major revolutions of the world. He stressed on the use of such activities while remaining within the ethical and moral limits.

Students from various schools and colleges participated in the festival. Sumaiyyah Mannan (Shaheen Public School) got the first prize in poetry recitation while second and third positions were acquired by Abdur Raheem PZ (JNU) and Vidya Sagar (DU) respectively. In extempore elocution Umar Shah, Vidya Sagar, and Kashif Mansoor of Delhi University won the first, second and third prizes respectively. Athar Khan (JMI) secured first position in mimicry while the team from Jamia Hamdard won the first prize in Drama. Program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Bazlul Basit Choudhry Convenor of this mega event.
