SIO Expressed Solidarity to the nun of Ranaghat Convent of Jesus and Mary

The West Bengal chapter of the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) expressed solidarity to the nun of Ranaghat Convent of Jesus and Mary, who has been gang raped by some inhumane goons. Mr. Mafikul Islam, the State President of SIO demands due investigation and capital punishment to the rapists. He added that once a molestation or rape case is proven, exemplary punishment should be given. In addition to this incident, he expressed his grave concern on increasing rate of rape, molestation and attack on minorities throughout the country. Government’s Downswing in Social Expenditure in Union Budget 2015 is not a good sign for the People India, SIO

The Union Budget 2015 presented by Mr. Arun Jaitley, the Finance Minister, Government of India (GOI) indicates a considerable downswing in social expenditure, which is not a good sign for the people of India, said the Mr. Iqbal Hussain, the National President, Student Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India in his press release on the issue. Though there are social sectors where government has allocated good amount of funds but the education sector has not got good attention of State Government. SIO South Maharashtra has submitted Memorandum to government officials at various places including Deputy Director of Primary Education,(Maharashtra state), Mr.Govind Nandede,Pune and a press release regarding the demand of date extension of online process. online form submission of RTE started from 1st March 2015 in Maharashtra, till date very few applications are uploaded throughout the State against the target of 25% Quota.  It indicates the gross negligence, inefficiency, lack of co-ordination of Director of School Education and its Regional Offices.  The Program is floundered on ground because of irresponsibility shown by concerned authorities. Students Islamic Organisation has urged the Union government not to make the Aadhaar card mandatory for obtaining scholarships and other benefits. SIO members took out a rally in Basava Kalyan on Thursday and submitted a memorandum to the government saying that this rule would keep out majority of the students from the minority community from the social welfare net. The government accepts that only 22 per cent of students are covered under the scheme. How can a scheme based on such poor coverage be called universal?   SIO Mumbra-Kausa  started a study centre for the students of 10th and 12th in the Al-Aqsa Mosque of Tanwar nagar. Students from near by slum and residential building are using first floor of the Mosque as Study Centre. So far 25 to 30 students are studying here. Saad Shaikh a student of the study circle said ” we are not getting necessary atmosphere at home like what we usually get in school and here we are. Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) National president Ashfaq Ahmed Shareef has urged the Central government to suppress terrorist activities with an iron hand in India. He asked students and youth to keep away from communal elements in wake of the al-Qaeda’s tapes announcing that they would spread their activities in India.
